Airmen Monitor Florence, Provide Data to National Hurricane Center

The Air Force Reserve's 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron is flying missions over the Atlantic Ocean this week to monitor Hurricane Florence.
The Air Force Reserve’s 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron departed Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, Sept. 9, 2018, to operate out of Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, Savannah, Georgia. The Reserve Citizen Airmen will start flying reconnaissance missions into Hurricane Florence Sept. 10, 2018. The Air Force and Navy announce their Joint Physiological Episodes Action Team, or J-PEAT, Sept. 11 at the Pentagon, Arlington. In a collaborative effort of Force Integration, the Air Force will also rename their Unexplained Physiological Events Integration Team to the AF-PEAT.
