FL Homeowner Finds Way to Show Support for Police Despite HOA Ban

<p>Twitter post from <a href=Action News Jax report Beth Rousseau shows projected Blue Lives Matter flag on homeowner's property.

" />

A St. Johns County, FL, homeowner who was asked by her homeowners association to remove a Blue Lives Matter flag from the outside of her home a month ago has now found a new way to get the message across.

A projector is now beaming the flag onto the homeowner's Samara Lakes garage at night instead of having it hung from a flagpole attached to the home, WOKV TV reports.

"It doesn’t seem to quite be covered that a projector from a vehicle projecting on your garage door is a violation of the HOA,” says Jeff Gaddie, the father of the homeowner. Gaddie added that the flag honors him and other member of the family in law enforcement.

SC Deputy Placed on Leave After Fatal Collision with Speeding Motorcyclist

VIDEO: SC Deputy Placed on Leave After Fatal Collision with Speeding Motorcyclist

The Berkeley County (SC) Sheriff's Office has released video of a high-speed pursuit that ended with the death of the pursued motorcyclist. The Wednesday night pursuit lasted more than five minutes and the involved deputy has been placed on leave.

The video footage appears to show the deputy's patrol vehicle hit the motorcycle twice during a crash that officials attributed, in part, to the rider's sharp braking.

Robert Lee Clark Jr., 30, of Goose Creek lost control after colliding with the deputy's SUV and hit another car. He died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, the Post and Courier reports.

In a report, the deputy said he was looking out for speeding motorists on College Park Road when he noticed the motorcycle going 66 mph in a 45-mph zone.

"Speeds reached ... 111 mph at times with the motorcyclist slamming on the brakes and then speeding away several times," Chief Deputy Mike Cochran added in the sheriff's statement.

VIDEO: WI Officer Reunited with Boy He Saved 11 Years Ago

In the Kaukauna (WI) Police Department, there is a framed newspaper article about an officer who saved the life of a choking baby.

That officer was Charlie Vosters, and the baby was 10-month-old Zeke Tomlin.

Fast-forward 11 years and one of Tomlin's assignments for music class was to write a story about a hero.

"I chose Officer Vosters," Tomlin said.

He read his story during his music concert Thursday night.

Vosters also attended the concert, Fox 11 reports.

He hugged Tomlin and they even took a photo, to remember the new moment.

"First word I said was thank you," Tomlin said.

Video: Seattle Chief Says It's Miracle Officer Wasn't Killed in Downtown Shootout Last Week

VIDEO: Seattle Chief Says It's Miracle Officer Wasn't Killed in Downtown Shootout Last Week

Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O'Toole was visiting an officer seriously wounded in Thursday's downtown robbery shootout Friday and spoke with KOMO News about the incident.

Three officers shot following a robbery, and chase near Pioneer Square are recovering from their injuries.

The officers exchanged gunfire with 19-year-old Damarius Butts who had just robbed a 7-Eleven store of beer and doughnuts. Butts was shot dead, and two others - Butt's 17-year-old sister, and a 19-year-old male friend - who are suspected as accomplices in the robbery, were arrested.

Officer Hudson Kang suffered wounds to his face and chest and remains at Harborview Medical Center in serious but stable condition, Harborview said Friday night.

"The fact that he's alive right now is really a miracle," said Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O'Toole who visited with the injured officers. O'Toole said Kang is in good spirits, but has a long recovery.

Another officer, Elizabeth Kennedy was shot in the chest, but was likely saved by her body armor, police say. She was released from Harborview Thursday evening.

The third officer injured in the shooting, Chris Myers was grazed in the hand by a bullet.

"Thankfully, we didn’t lose any of our officers [in this incident] but it was a very close call," said O'Toole.
