All four police officers employed by the Blandford (MA) Police Department have tendered their resignations, according to CBS News.
Citing poor equipment and unsafe working conditions, Interim Police Chief Roberta Sarnacki and three other officers submitted their resignations in a letter to town officials on Monday.
"The officers said the town’s police cruisers are in such bad shape they often have to answer calls in their personal vehicles," said the CBS News report.
Officers allege that their radios don’t work "in some parts of the town" and that their ballistic armor is beyond the expiration dates for replacement.
Calls for service will now be answered by Massachusetts State Police.
