The Tucson Police Department has pulled a page from an age-old playbook for traffic enforcement.
The Operations Division recently outfitted mannequins armed with radar guns and positioned them next to empty police vehicles in order to encourage drivers to slow down at intersections known to be the locations of frequent collisions due to speeding.
This is the first time TPD has utilized this method by using mannequins, according to ABC-15.
Sergeant Corie Nolan told Fox10 News, "It's fun. It's challenging to try and get people to change their driving behaviors. Because that's ultimately why we're out here."
