On Saturday morning 911 dispatchers in Albuquerque were receiving numerous calls of an older gentleman in a wheelchair asking for money at the intersection of Wyoming and Montgomery. Sergeant Jim Edison with APD took the call.
When he arrived he found Timothy Scott, and asked him why he was on the street corner. Scott told the officer he was just released from the hospital, and was hungry.
Edison then gave Scott the lunch his wife packed for him. While moving the man to a safer place, Edison discovered that his wheelchair was in bad need of repair.
Edison enlisted the help of Faith Lutheran Church, a ministry that specializes in helping those with special needs to provide the man with a new wheelchair.
