Clipper Race Training | How to tie a bowline knot

In this video Ben Bowley, Clipper Race Chief Instructor goes through how to tie a bowline. The bowline is one of the most important knots that Race Crew will use on the Clipper Race yachts. It is used to make a secure loop in a rope and its main use onboard is for securing the yankee and staysail sheets to the clew of the sails. The main advantage of the bowline is that no matter how much load the knot has been under it can easily be undone. This video is one of a series of videos produced to complement and support the Clipper Race Training Programme.
