Police officers with the Suffolk County (NY) Police Department welcomed three new members of the force on Wednesday—11-year-old Jesse Pallas, nine-year-old Zachary Cote, and 10-year-old Sean Hughes.
"We did a little bit of homework and a little bit of investigation and we discovered you boys have the qualities to make exceptional police officers," said Suffolk County Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart. "You're honest, brave, and kind."
After being sworn in, the boys received challenge coins and SCPD baseball hats, according to GreaterPortJeff.com.
They were then given an extensive tour of police headquarters.
